America Park, v.1

The “America” park — its history, wars, culture, etc. Designed with legitimate museums in each zone, as well as attractions (rides & shows). There’s a large museum of particular import for each zone, along the area’s back edge.

 

  • History

    • People, places, events, and technological innovations.

      • Revolutionary Period.

      • Exploitation in the Antebellum South.

      • The Journey West: Manifest Destiny and the Oregon Trail.

      • Prohibition and the Great Depression.

        • Bonnie & Clyde speedy thrill ride: in antique car, evade cops while being shot at.

      • Midcentury developments (connects to the center).

  • War

    • The Civil War

      • Cannon crew, simulation with artillery piece and responsive screens, defending a hill from Confederate forces.

      • Shooting gallery, repulsing a charge from behind a stone wall, at the Battle of Gettysburg.

    • The Great War

      • Laser tag in a maze of WWI trenches, with large opposing teams and bouts of rolling fog simulating chlorine gas.

      • Motion simulator (270-degree enclosed mobile pod with screens surrounding the exterior) giving the experience that you are part of a zeppelin crew amongst the skies above the trenches—a dogfight happens around you, and you engage (working together with your team) to defend your dirigible.

    • World War II

      • An interactive, sprawling map of the timeline, complete with every important date, battle, event, person, and place – clicking on a date’s point brings up a soundbite and a photograph.

        • With that are a wall of photos: some are digitized photographs and some become videos playing archival footage, with narrations and audio design.

    • The Cold War (connects to the center).

      • Cuban Missile Crisis.

      • Spycraft — an escape room, or a cat-and-mouse game, or a codebreaking experience, or dueling teams for surveillance and elusion?

  • Culture

    • As culture changed throughout the decades

      • Film, Fashion, Music, Cuisine, etcetera.

    • Politics

      • The Presidents—a wall of them, in a timeline of portraits, and each one has a video summary accompanying it describing the country and their efforts during their terms.

    • Civil Rights and the Counterculture (connects to the center).
